Hugging strangers

This morning at Fuel, a bizarre thing happened. Three business-folk came up to order their coffee while I was leaning drinking mine. One of the guys reached into his breast pocket and retrieved 2 ‘hug coupons’ which he gave to me and Wayne (barista).

So, instead of thinking he was a wacko I said “Oh, cool. So where do I go to get my hug?” After a split second exchange of consenting glances we threw open our arms and hugged each other! (He smelt gooooood …) Aaaaanyway – Wayne asked what it was all about and the guy replied “Just you watch the birth rate in Wellington double over the next few years!” So I leapt right on in and had the guy and his colleagues roaring with laughter when I started brushing myself off and saying “Struth! No-one told me *that’s* how babies were made!”

Turns out they are an Australian company who do motivational and inspirational coaching and merchandising – the have a legitimate website (www.successcorner.com.au).

So a strange occurrence but good. I like hugs. And I did feel uplifted and walked back to work with a smile on my face 🙂
