Excel auto filter

In my Bank job I use Excel a LOT. Sometimes the simplest things bring about the greatest gains. My current fave is AutoFilter (Data>Filter) on the header row. It has the effect of reducing a great list of items to a select few based on common data entered. And you can AutoFilter on top of AutoFilter thereby reducing the list even more.

e.g. Tasks of type GUIDE, assigned to me, not completed.
