Monty Log Day 13

Highlights / cute things on Day 13:

• Monty and I were playing upstairs-downstairs hide and seek last night and if you’re quick enough to beat him downstairs and into the study out of sight he takes a cursory look down the hall but if he gets to the door of the bedroom and can’t find you he me-ows and me-ows until you call him!
  
• He’d lost his bottle cap again and in the midst of one of our trips downstairs he ran to the study couch and crouched down near the end of it, looked under it and me-owed. And what did I find under there but his stash of bottle caps!
  
• This morning he was quivering in anticipation for his milk froth – he’s even learning not to jump on the bench when I get his saucer out but to run along the top of the shelf and get down at the end.
  
• We were using the masking tape this morning (see ‘Naughty’ section below) and to distract him from what we were fixing (see ‘Naughty’ section below) I stuck a piece on the door for him just out of his reach. He jumped and clawed to get it then was insanely cute when it stuck to his paw and he couldn’t figure out how to get it off.

Naughty things on Day 13:

• I think he’s getting cabin fever after being stuck inside for 2 weeks (see ‘Sad’ section below) and combined with rain and hail tapping on the roof last night he was on a mission to get to the highest possible point in the house. The big TV and ledge above the front door were favourite spots last night.
  
• This morning we opened the curtains and discovered the home theatre cables (that cost $50 per meter I was reminded – like why is that important information to me?) had ‘somehow’ come unpinned from above the ranch slider and were dangling down in front of the window. We’ve done a hack job with masking tape so that some other time, i.e. when we’re not rushing out the door for work, we can re-hook the cables back up under the cable ties.

Sad things on Day 13:

• He’s going home tomorrow.
