Paper anniversary

The Mister had a huge bunch of orange flowers for me yesterday when I got home from work, and in it a gorgeous flower made out of paper in the tradition of giving something paper on your first wedding anniversary. So thoughtful! And he had the florist inventing something since last week!!

Next year cotton …

Borders is coming!

Yaaaay! Nothing more glorious than poking around a bookstore in the evenings … that’s if it keeps the same hours as those internationally and in Auckland.

Bank contract has come to and end

It’s official. Got the email. Another big friendly technology system at work. Not. Well done SAP.

21 November 2005 10.20am #1

Got married a year ago at City Hall in New York! At 10.20 in the morning … so just met up at 10.20 this morning for celebratory coffee. Yaaaay – happy anniversary Mr & Mrs :-D

Out my window today I saw …

Plane tracks!

Thanksgiving Dinner #1

Not sure if we did it “right” but we had our own-style inaugural Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday night. A proper grown up dinner party for 8 with our urban family. We had great fun preparing for it all day and the whole evening turned out just as we’d planned. Everyone has reported that they had a great time.  We’re hoping to make it an annual tradition.

Thanksgiving Dinner 2006

Roast turkey with wild rice & cranberry stuffing
Kumara & baby spinnach salad
Coleslaw

17 November 2005

A year ago today we were all packed up and ready to leave for New York! We spent the morning checking the lists and crying (well me anyway) because just before we left we found out a cat we knew had got run over. Later in the day we were on the plane with a bottle of VC with the crew fluffing about and wanting to hear all about the momentous trip half way across the world to get married in a dingy City Clerk’s office.

Best trip of my life.

P.S. Happy Birthday Mister xx :-)

Ads that make you smile

Was somewhat distracted on the way to the dentist by a couple of bill board ads that made me smile.

I smiled because of the cat, not because of the native animals being eaten!!

P.S. no fillings and I’ve been switched to 18-month check-ups due to excellent dental health :-)

Detox diets

I’ve got a dentist appointment at midday. I have not been consciously thinking about it but my body sure knows of the impending appointment. My stomach, bowels, bladder, body temperate, sweat glands, vision and concentration have slowly been getting worse and worse as the morning has worn on. God – who needs a week of nothing but fruit and water to detox – just make a dentist appointment!

And it’s only for a check-up!!

More marriages in NYC

Out of the blue the Mister had a phone call yesterday from his barber hairdresser who abandoned him went on an overseas trip a few months ago. She was ringing to say that after hearing about our marriage that they had ditched their plans for a ‘traditional’ wedding upon their return to New Zealand and instead had got married at City Hall in New York while away! What an inspiration we are to others.
