Orange iPod clippie thing

Sigh. Perhaps I will have to give in and become an iPoder after all. Who can resist this gorgeous little orange thing? I suppose I could clip it onto my jacket and just not listen to anything … not actually the most expensive brooch one could buy.

Weekend in Napier

My collection of arty shots from the weekend.

5am crane

Clanking and hydraulic noises went on outside our window from 5am – 6.30am this morning as some kind of tank/air-con unit was lifted onto the roof of a building across the road. Quite a long and involved process! Luckily (yeah right) they were still there after dawn so I could get a photo. I tried to sleep through it but it was just so damn exciting.

My orange phone

Oh oh oh! If you put something on your blog and wish hard enough, you might just get your very own Orange Betty orange phone!!!

Look! I have one now 🙂

From Syders thanks to my small dark friend.

Orange flowers

Spotted this great patch of geraniums by the Michael Fowler Center.

Patience with filo

Filo pastry *really* tests my patience although have found a good system with the Mister doing most of the handling so any ripping is entirely his fault! I have always wanted to make spanakopita and last night we did. Worked fantastically and tasted so good. Mint is the mystery ingredient!

Current temperature

Is our in/out temperature measurer broken or could it really be as warm outside as it is inside? 23 degrees at 10am?

New things in Welly

Out and about.

The new bar in the old St John’s Ambulance building – seems this is now *the* place to be on a Friday night. I wonder if that means Dockside is now empty?

Photo of a photo at the construction site showing an artist’s impression of what the redeveloped Chew’s Lane will look like.

More Betty heaven

Thank you thank you my orange-haired friend for sending me this!

Boy knitting #2

Finished the second aforementioned knitting for boys – a variation on the orange and striped theme. And just when the weather has got warmer – I hope he gets to wear it!
