Birthday dinner

We’ve started a bit of a tradition of cooking a private dinner party on Mother-in-Law’s birthday – and last night marked the second time of transporting the ingredients out to the beach house. We weren’t sure how our pastry or gingernut crumbs would go in the Friday afternoon traffic but they survived and dinner was a huge success. And just so lovely to sit by the sea with no wind and eat outside.

Insalata Caprese
Leek & potato strudel with pesto-dressed salad greens
Individual ginger-base cheesecakes

Mother-in-law was once again truly impressed and is going to put pomegranate seeds into her next salad. Another memorial meal. Thanks.
