Birthday pie

Had a great visit from my family last weekend – our last weekend in Wellington before we go to San Francisco and also some of the coldest weather on Wellington’s record! God it was freezing. Also howling rain and wind, not so good for people from rural communities who are used to driving into town – we spent a lot of time crouching under verandas and running through the rain.

It was Orange Sister’s birthday while they were here and seeing as they always miss out on Thanksgiving apple pie I decided to make one.

Then we all camped on the couch and watched the very funny and rather endearing Love Birds about a man who makes friends with a duck.
