Ginger tail

As we were wandering through Mt Vic again this weekend we encountered a very friendly puss who ran up to greet us. He had very unusual markings – haven’t seen such specific ginger colouring before and the little dotted line of tabby grey between his back and tail made it look almost as though he had a tail belonging to someone else!

Kitty sitting

We’re on kitty sitting duty for Pip and Pi this weekend. In Pi’s case kitty sitting means sit down and the kitty sits on you. Straight away! Before being fed even. He’s so smoochy and lovely.

Cat bathtime

I follow the icanhascheezburger.com website (basically pictures of cats doing funny things that people have added clever captions to) and I have to say over the months of following it I have noticed a large number of photos of wet cats because they’re being bathed. Here’s the one that was on the site this morning:

I have to say, I never ever thought to wash a cat and I don’t remember ever washing any of the family cats we had. They don’t like water and they wash themselves don’t they? Perhaps it’s the long-haired breeds that are being washed (which we never had).  In the wet cat photos they never look as though they are enjoying bath time that’s for sure!

Lola in the park

Met lovely friendly Lola in Aro Park on our walk today. I chatted briefly to a girl with a bag of vegies on her way back through the park from the market and she said Lola is quite often there, so we’ll probably walking that way again soon!

Scooby the Lion

Oh humans, go on take my photo if you must. Haven’t you taken enough already? Here’s my best side.

Scooby friend

I went to feed Scooby tonight. I’d been told he was scared of the garage door going up so I was quite worried that he’d not come to me, or be a bit skitterish but he wasn’t. He smooched and rubbed all over my legs and enjoyed a good pat. He *is* a really big puss and very soft. I felt just awful leaving him there in the dark garage when it was time to go.

Was a great thing to do on a night when the Mister is out of town … still waiting for a call to see if Xero has won an award at the HiTech Awards in Christchurch.

Scooby visit

Might be going to visit Scooby next week – his human’s will be out of town and he needs to be fed. Have now seen him on video – he’s huge! And he seems to like drinking water.

Scooby script

I bravely decided to do the voice-over for a video for Help Centre which will eventually appear on our blog and website. I tried to ad-lib it but got quite wound up and upset when I couldn’t think and talk and demostrate all at once – I *so* thought I’d be able to do it! Anyway, the guy that normally records the videos said that for the first time a script would help and because I didn’t want to read it out, I wanted to speak with a smile in my voice I put a photo of his cat at the top of my script – meet Scooby …

… he’s just moved up from Christchurch and used the cat door for the first time 2 days ago and he came back and didn’t try to run all the way back to Christchurch!

Big kitties

The Moggie’s kitties have grown so much, and they’re lovely and soft and friendly and didn’t mind a pat at all.

Yabber yabber studio cat yabber yabber

I don’t speak German but find this video from YouTube adorable – a puss cat wandered onto the set of a local TV station’s weather segment last week and the weather presenter didn’t miss a beat and just picked the cat up and carried on with the weather.

At one stage the cat (Lupin) actually points to the weather map as well. Am sending the link to Basel Lisa to see if she can pick out what the guy is saying about the cat – he definitely says ‘studio cat’ when he picks him up and from what I can tell refers to the cat again at the end.

Update: turns out my Orange Friend in Chicago has a husband who knows German! The weather guy says “And also our studio cat has just wandered in without permission” and picks him up then straight on with the weather. Towards the end he says something about it being cold and wintry and that he hopes that all the cats have thick fur to get through the night.
