San Francisco weekend

Took a couple of great snaps this weekend – it was unusually warm for this time of the year.

Parklet

This arrived outside our office in San Francisco while we were in New Zealand – a mobile garden, known as a parklet. It has a little bench seat on it and everything. Not sure I’ll sit on it facing the parking spaces outside the building next to our office but you never know!

Xero knitting #17 & 18

Big job to knit 2 at once but I have done over the course of winter evenings in San Francisco to give to new twins born to Xero since we’ve been away. They’re so tiny now but should fit the cardigans by the time the New Zealand winter rolls around.

Wine cellar

I like this photo The Mister took of Father-in-law’s wine cellar. Minus a couple of bottles now though!

Impressive wine cellar

Back at the beach

Nice evening in Mother & Father-in-law’s yard looking out at the sea – bubbles and chips in the fresh air. Lovely.

Peanut butter smile

Felt very special today when we went to Nikau for breakfast and Kelda (chef & owner) had organized a jar of trashy peanut butter for me to have on my toast. Definitely not the sort of thing they serve from their fresh organic kitchen to diners seated on their patio surrounded by plants grown to use in the kitchen.

Peanut butter girl

However I love peanut butter. I think I didn’t care either way about it as a kid, and actually have some vague recollection of not liking it but certainly for the last few years it’s what I enjoy on toast every day for breakfast. Whether I’m at home or out. Not particularly interesting I know but I don’t have breakfast for interest’s sake, I have it because I’m hungry and I like it and it goes well with coffee.

So I was thrilled to receive that special treatment – thank you so much Kelda – and I was pleased to escort it from the cafe when she came rushing out of the kitchen when we were paying the bill thrusting it towards The Mister saying “take it – I don’t want this shit in my kitchen”! Awesome!! I know I promised not to tell anyone it was ever there … sorry about that, but my blog doesn’t get that many readers :)

More posing

Seems every opportunity we had we were posing in front of SDF’s camera when we were staying with her in Wellington – this time before we all went out our separate ways to catch up with friends. We’ve perfected the ‘teapot pose’ ;)

Wednesday dinner club

Introducing Antonio

Video log # 3 – this morning making coffee at SDF’s house.

More high heels

Staying with SDF this week and we had Wednesday Dinner Club at her house – just like old times except she actually cooked. Very impressed! We also played around with her camera, teasing her by posing as she does for our outfits to be photographed. Then I got hold of her special animal stilettos and pretended I was on Next Top (heavy) Model! Pics on her blog.

Tower of cream & pastry

Steph has way more patience than me – check out this amazing tower using the dreaded filo pastry that she made for dessert last night. Yum.
