This was one of 2 possibilities in Monterey that I’d looked up before we got there, none of which were anywhere near where we were staying and after a walk by both places this was the one that had the better looking coffee machine and didn’t look like a diner.
It seemed pretty quiet when I peered in the door but I went right in to take a look at the machine and food selection before dragging the family in there and when I saw a large table of older Italian men gesturing and tumbling to talk over top of each other it reminded me somewhat of being in Italy so assumed the coffee was decent.
It wasn’t city quality but it was pretty damn good. And definitely a lonely ray of hope in a tourist town – luckily I’d taken my coffee travel kit which is how I survived the rest of that long weekend.
