An opportunity has come up. What to do? What to do?
On the plus side:
- It’s in IT
- It’s the kind of liaison role I loved working in before – some requirements writing, testing – general go-between for developers and business
- Would earn almost the same money in 6 months as I currently get in a year
- Would be employed by a bank … possibilities for moving up possibly greater than current role
- Extremely tight project timeframes so would be a challenge
- Change of scenery – it’s coming up 3 years in my current job
- It would be closer to Fuel
On the minus side:
- It’s unexpected, unplanned
- It’s a contract role – good money but less security (4-6 months)
- I’m needed here – I am a source of support for my manager, people seem to value what I do – how will I tell my boss?
- I’m comfortable
- I don’t feel *that* enthusiastic mind you that might be ‘Monday-itis’ … even though it’s Tuesday but you know what I mean.
- I don’t know if I have that drive in me anymore – the drive that gets you to work at 7.30am and you drag yourself away at 7.30pm and work at weekends – I gather this is what is needed on the job
Shit, the pluses outweigh the minuses – I wasn’t expecting that.
