So. Someone at work sent me a page from a seed catalogue that seems to indicate that there ARE purple cabbages as well as 2 kinds of red cabbages. So perhaps Moore Wilson’s really do get purple cabbages in February and had we asked for red yesterday’s cabbage adventure would not have occurred!
By the way, they all look purple to me so no wonder I’m getting wound up!

I told you, red cabbage! I did a one year Science Project on it once, so am very well versed in the skill of sourcing red cabbage across seasons.
I can tell you now – there was no cabbage of any colour other than green at Moore Wilson’s on the weekend – and the guy was pretty adamant that they wouldn’t get any till Christmas. And anyway – my ones were nicer than there’s.
