San Francisco Day 1 – not really San Francisco but out in the East Bay in Pleasant Hill where Bev & Dan live. After a pretty turbulent flight neither of us got much sleep so hanging in the sun, going to the market and having an early dinner before early to bed should hopefully set us up for the week.
Bev & Dan’s new place is really nice – lovely sunny back yard, man shed and an awesome orange notice board that I wrote on immediately.

Off for some San Francisco exploring now that we’re installed in our hotel (that’s got orange ‘accents’ and a really scary magnifying mirror) – it’s raining today (Monday) but should be fine the rest of the week – first stop the bank and AT&T.

P.S. 2 great coffees so far from near where Bev & Dan live – Pacific Bay in Walnut Creek that we’ve visited before when we stayed with them – they have a ’special’ order – 8oz lattes – staff well trained!
April 16th, 2011 — Orange, Work
We’ve all wheeled our Life chairs into the big meeting room at work to be cleaned this weekend. Mine is easy to spot! That’s pretty much how I feel – always a bit different, special, the odd one out! This photo someone took made me smile.

Matt just got back into the office today after their trip to Nepal, India and Korea and he gave me one of the turbans they had to wear to the temples. Lovely orange, although I’m wearing it wrong!

January 17th, 2011 — Orange, Tech commentary
Someone at work sent me this picture and link to get one this morning.

I don’t have the version of the iPhone that this is for … enough to tempt me? Not yet, they’re too heavy and slippery and don’t do any whizbangery that I’d make use of in my own narrow band of self-taught iPhone activity! And still my purchase decisions are less influenced by being a cool kid than they are about orange so if the orange doesn’t do it, it’s going to be a while!

Cousin Grant taunted us today with a photo he’d taken in Central Park – it was pretty sad to see it because we’d so love to see all the orange and autumn colours but I’m glad he sent it. One day

Here are all the buttons I got in Sydney last weekend – will have to do a lot of knitting to use them all up! Whether I do or not it’s very nice to have them

November 10th, 2010 — Orange, Out and about
Had to smile when I walked passed these workmen on Dixon Street today, the Manners Street and general bus route changes in that part of the city are extending outwards and it was like their jackets were defending their actions proactively!

I made Halloween cupcakes again this year – we have all sorts of ghoulish baking and decorations go up at work for the event so this was my baked offering. I’ve finally found orange icing so didn’t have to make it up from red and yellow food colouring like I did a couple of years ago – although they turned out alright!
This year my cupcakes were coffee flavoured with vanilla butter cream icing – delicious.

Although they did look kind of yellow next to me that day!

Gosh I totally forgot I hadn’t posted this picture of my Orange Friend from Chicago who saw this very fast orange Tesla and actually got to drive a very fast red version around the streets of Chicago! With Orange Season upon us I thought it was kind of appropriate to post it now even though not a picture of a jack-o-lantern, skull, blood spatter, scary ghost or any other Halloween creature.

Orange Season is beginning to show itself in the office – a few cobwebs and creepy decorations have gone up and last night Jiff took to my orange balloons (yes still there from when we came back from New York) with a pen to make them into jack-o-lantern faces!

Mother sent the latest photo last night of our clivia that now lives and THRIVES at their place in Awakeri (as long time readers will know).

When we walk to work there is actually a garden full of them flowering (although now ruined by the wind) so they *do* grow in Wellington, just not for us!

Thanks Mum!
