Extra service!

Went for a facial this evening and was treated to a bit of extra-special service! The face lady’s (as we call her) cat jumped in the window and wasn’t scared off by the mud pack so jumped up onto the bed and curled up on my legs to sleep! She doesn’t want to encourage it because obviously not everyone likes cats, cat hair gets everywhere, he’ll give people a fright if they’ve got their eyes closed etc but she made a special exception for me because she knows I love cats and always ask how he’s doing.

He’s not that old and this is only the second time I’ve seen him – she went to get him when he was kitten and had just arrived and brought him in so I could pat him. After I got up he rushed up to claim the bed as his own.

Another Pip & Pi visit

Just ‘happened’ to be driving by Pip and Pi’s house on Sunday morning so popped in for a visit. They’ve gotten so big in the couple of weeks since we first saw them. And after a bit of biting and running and farting they *both* settled down for a sleep on my knee and I was the cat who looked like he’d got the cream 😀 They really are soft and adorable.

They both take turns at sleeping on top of each other although it seems more often than not to be the bigger male Pi squashing poor little Pip.

Pip and Pi

And here they are – the gorgeous little kitties Pip and Pi that we met yesterday. They didn’t really stand still long enough for a photo but this is a relatively good one.

They’re so tiny and all they do is gallivant (as well as 12 weekers can) around the place, chew things (they loved the little wool balls I took them), fart and sleep. The tiniest one Pip slept on the Mister for quite a while – he’s smitten!

Kittiiiiiiiiies!

Going to see the new kitties soon!!! 😀 Am making their humans a blueberry lattice pie – I invented it last weekend in Mother’s kitchen and am trying to recreate it now … although Wellington blueberries are nowhere near as plump and delicious looking as the ones from down the road in Whakatane.

A bit later … here it is looking knobbly and homemade and pretty much like the one I made last weekend which turned out to be deLICious!

RIP Big Ginge

Oh, just heard that my Big Ginger Friend died this week – bye bye Min Mins.

Brown Sugar cats

Seeing as it was a fine day today and the car was gleaming and rearing to go after its service we decided to go for a Sunday Drive … Saturdays are our Sundays really. Randomly we head out to Otaki to the Brown Sugar Cafe seeing as we frequent its big brother in Taihape on trips north and don’t mind the coffee.

And what a surprise when I chose a table out in the sunny garden – 2 giant tabby cats. The biggest one (shame he’s obscured in the photo) didn’t mind being picked up and carted about by me and sat on my knee at the table for a while. Not when we were eating of course.

I think that’s going to be a popular location for Sunday Drives in the future – plus it turns out they have outlet stores out there so Aidan did well!

Wool ends

Next knitting project is going to be interesting – am going to go through the by now quite big bag of wool scraps from all my knitting over the last 2 or 3 years to find bits of 8 and 10 ply to knit a couple of little blankets for our friends who are getting 2 kittens soon. Probably going to look like a first-timer’s effort all stripy and warped due to mixing plies (plys?) but once the kitties get their fur on them will hopefully be a big hit!

They went to visit their kitties at the weekend – still too small to be taken from their mother.

Big Ginger

Actually met the Big Ginge (Mini) last night at his house. He’s a pretty old puss now – getting a bit precious and cantankerous but despite appearances didn’t seem to mind a cuddle and a pat. His house has an amazing view – you can see a snippet of it in the background. Thanks for dinner and 2 helpings of pav 🙂

Orange cat

For those out there that know about LOL cats on icanhascheeseburger.com, I just couldn’t resist posting this one! Who dreams up these sites? Honestly! But it’s so great – lots of love pussy cat pics.

Hawke’s Bay pat attack

Got to have a cuddle with my old friend Brutus 😀

He was scouting around his Fiji-style outdoor barbeque bar (complete with neon ‘Open’ sign) for an unwanted sausage.
